2024 - Week 6

The Phoenix Golf League was visited this week by an actual Phoenix/Nassau active employee: Jacob Buter, who worked with Bill, Tom W and Joe.  Not a golfer, but he drinks beer and can dish out shit, so he fit right in.

Hey are we going to have a Zogger sighting next week?

Zog, let me know if you are playing so I can set you up with a match.

If you know the weeks you can’t play, let me know as early as possible.

See you next week.

Thanks,

Dave

2024 - Week 5

I had to remind The Mad Bombers to make sure they keep their golf cart out of the line of sight when their father is hitting to the green.  But to their defense, Bill was shooting to the 13^th green and they parked the cart by the 14^th tee box.  Great trick shot, Bill!  Put it right in the back of the golf cart.  Everyone I talked to also said that he should have moved the cart by the green before removing the golf ball.

Just as strange, on Wednesday, our opponent drove up to his golf ball and then his next shot nailed his cart.  Boy his partner, who was still in the cart was surprised!  Anywho….

I thank Lenny for not showing up allowing ‘some of us’ to catch up.

Please let me know when you are going to be out, especially if you plan on being out at the end of August.

I know people told me when they will be out be send me an email or text.  Because I have CRS.

Right now I have or remember, Bill Oravec will be out next week.

Since this process is not yet, fully automated, keep an eye on your points.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,

Dave

2024 - Week 4

Our group started off with 3 golfers and by the 9^th hole we had 4.

We turned around on the 4^th green and there was a single behind us.

We figured if 2 of our groups let him thru, we’ll do the same.

All he did was cut in from of everyone.  So Kevin K. asked he wanted to play in our group.  He did offer to buy us beers on the 6^th hole.

Any who….

2024 - Week 3

I just noticed that the software did not stagger the tee times.  Pre-COVID, I always used a web base software to set up the schedule.  This is the first time I ever use our software to set the schedule and I just took it for granted it stagger the tee times.   I’ll fix this unless nobody cares if Joe and TC going off first, all the time.  I’ll fix this and send the tee times out on Friday. If not then Monday.

This past week, Bill G.  matched cards with K.G., while playing against Mr. Kearns.  Bill G. will be out next Tuesday.

2024 - Week 2

John, girls like a manly scar!

John got nailed in the chin by an errant golf ball, while practice putting and had to get 4 stitches.

I didn't get a photo of the chin/stitches, but I got the blood drops on the shoes.

I hope "they" don’t make us wear face masks while we golf!

2024 - Week 1

Welcome back everyone!  Last official League stats were back in 2019.

First I would like to thank Ted for being the first golfer off (and the first to hit the barn)!  Thanks Ted, you put everyone at ease.

I played with the Gallagher boys, last night.  There’s no gimme putts between the brothers.

Elder Gallagher, a.k.a "Gallagher Prime", on the 18^th tee box…..said…Wow I’m playing you Dave?  By that time, my match was over and I was wondering why I was giving Bill strokes!  I’m not saying Bill was padding his handicap, but an 8 on the last hole!  Come On Man!

We had our first matched cards of the season: TC played both Ted and Tom W.
