Airways Golf League — Week 19 Recap: September 15, 2026
The sixth week of the second half
Only four players teed it up Tuesday — by far the smallest field of the entire season. Twelve absences, no birdies, no dramatics at the top of the leaderboard, and hole 3 continuing its season-long reign of quiet destruction. Len Stadnicki was the only one to meet his target, and everyone else came up one to three points short. A quiet week, but not without a couple of curiosities.
Hole 3 Strikes Again
The par-4 third, the season's longstanding villain, remained itself on Tuesday. Three of the four players in the field walked off with 7s (Dave Deyette, Kevin Kearns, and Len Stadnicki), and Ted Cowles was the lone dissenter with a double-bogey 6 — technically the best score anyone posted on hole 3 all night. In a four-player field, having three of the four players all card triple bogey on the same hole is a small statistical curiosity.
Season pars on hole 3: still one. Season 7s: many.
Len Stadnicki Wins the Night
Len Stadnicki posted 6 points on a target of 4 — two bonus points, target met, and the only player to leave with a positive number in the bonus column. He parred hole 5 and collected four bogey points elsewhere (2, 4, 6, 7). It's now three straight target-met weeks for Stadnicki, who quietly moves up to 3 bonus points on the second half.
His 49-stroke round tied Kevin Kearns for the low round of the night, though "the low round of the night" comes with an asterisk in a four-player field.
Kevin Kearns Comes Up Short
Kevin Kearns matched Len's 49 strokes but posted just 6 points against a target of 9 — his first second-half target miss after starting the half 3-for-3. He parred hole 4 (the par-5, which was surprisingly kind to him — a 5), bogeyed four holes, but the triple on the third and doubles on 5, 7, and 8 kept his total capped. Missed by three. His second-half bonus total holds at 7.
Dave Deyette: One Point Short
Dave Deyette posted 5 points on a target of 6 — missed by one, no bonus. His par on hole 6 plus four bogey points weren't quite enough. Doubles on the closing two holes (a 6 on 8 and a 6 on 9) sealed a target miss he'd been trending toward all round. It's his second consecutive one-point target miss, which is a special brand of frustration.
Ted Cowles Struggles
Ted Cowles posted 3 points on a target of 5 — his third consecutive target miss. Three bogey points (holes 5, 6, 7) after opening with four straight doubles or worse. When you start a round 6-6-6-7, the mountain gets steep in a hurry.

Three pars total across three holes:
- Hole 4: Kevin Kearns
- Hole 5: Len Stadnicki
- Hole 6: Dave Deyette
One par each for three of the four players. Ted Cowles finished parless.
Third Straight Birdieless Week
For the third consecutive week, no birdies were recorded — the longest birdie drought since April (weeks 2, 3, and the front-nine visit before that). Season total holds at 21.

With more than half the field absent, no one at the top gained ground on John Gallagher, whose 12-point lead sits untouched through his absence. Kevin Gallagher's 11 also holds one back. Len Stadnicki's two bonus points are the biggest movement of the week — he jumps from 1 to 3 bonus points, still well behind the leaders but on a real streak.
Attendance Watch
Twelve absent this week is the largest missing-list total of the season. Notable regulars out: John Gallagher, Bill Gallagher, Logan Jarvis, Chris McKone, and Joe Alvarez all took the night off, along with the usual crowd. That's essentially the entire top of the second-half leaderboard sitting the round out. Kevin Gallagher's absence remains presumed long-term.
Four players. One target met. Three players missing by one to three. A quiet, uneventful Tuesday.
