Week 1

Welcome back golfers!

It was a beautiful night for golf. If last night was any indication of the temperature, July and August are going to be hot!

I like to say hi to new comer Steve Plant. I hope to see a lot more of Steve this year and welcome back Mat Carey. Mat has been absent from the league for a couple of years, but he’s backkkk!

THE BARN

Technically is it considered hitting the barn if the ball rolls up to the barn but it doesn’t have the speed to hit it?? If you say YES, then Dave Housman hit the barn last night! I don’t know if Kevin got the picture or not.

Yep. Kevin got the picture.

Deal of the Week

John Hemphill – paying $2 for his cart and I’m not talking a hand-cart. You know how these smooth talkers work; they dazzle you with their vocabulary. John confused the unexpected man by asking him 3 times – I want a drive cart and can I take this key! So I just want to warn you about John ‘Wryly’ Hemphill (alias John ‘Sweetness’ Hemphill)

SandBagger of the Week

This person not only took on the top team but the top golf. He earned the right to be called Sandbagger this week, Larry Myers. Great round Larry! But I don’t think Kevin was using the word Sandbagger to describe your golf.

Larry earned "Sandbagger of the Week" with shots like these?

Byrdie Club

I thought we were being shutout in the first round. It took until the last group to come in before we had our first birdie. Bob Minardi, birdied the 13th hole. Nice putt Bob. President Minardi is now having a membership drive and he’s looking for a few good golfers. (and yes, Bob did buy a pitcher!)

I know some people were telling me the dates, when they need a sub. If you haven’t done so already, please send me an email with your ‘sub’ dates.

David Deyette

Standings After Week 1:

7) Myers / Patrizzi (5.0 points)
1) Deyette / Stadnicki (5.0 points)
8) Dolan / Galiszuski (4.0 points)
2) Gallagher / Keilich (3.5 points)
9) Mackin / Pierce (1.5 points)
4) Frankel / Carey (1.0 points)
6) Hemphill / Waid (0.0 points)
5) Housman / Morano (0.0 points)
3) Kearns / Russell (0.0 points)

Bill G's approach shot on 16 was a little offline. As in, on the 17th fairway.

Those are some ugly-ass fingers traumatizing that poor turtle!
