Week 4

Just a reminder, the league rules are 4 over par and then pick up. So on the score card, it would be:

Par 3 - 7
Par 4 - 8
Par 5 - 9

It was interesting. I left all the scores as is and ran the golf program. I got two different results and speaking team wise, I liked it when I left the scores as is. Our team had 1 more point.

SandBagger of the Week:

Manny "I’m Back" Russell - Manny shot a fine 29 net, powering the team of Kearns / Russell to their first points of the season. Great shooting Manny! Oh wait we play him next week – rats.

Byrdie Club:

Three new members: Manny "I’m Back" Russell had his bird on the 11th . Bill "Irish" Gallagher started off with a birdie on the 10th and Meyer Frankel on the ever so hard 13th . Great shots gentlemen!

p.s. I think Meyer was practicing for the last three weeks. Bad back – surrrreeeee. I couldn’t tell by his round. Of course we took turns getting his ball out of the cup for him. Welcome back Meyer.

Meyer makes his triumphant return.

Eagle Club:

Nothing yet but I have hope.

Another ps, when you check out the blog and you’ll see a picture of me putting, that was for a bird. See Byrdie Club to find out if I made the putt or not.

And Dave's birdie attempt is . . . ?

If you need a sub, let me know.

Dave

Standings After Week 4:

10) Oravec / Plant (15.0 points)
7) Myers / Patrizzi (13.5 points)
2) Gallagher / Keilich (13.5 points)
5) Housman / Morano (11.5 points)
1) Deyette / Stadnicki (11.0 points)
8) Dolan / Galiszuski (10.5 points)
9) Mackin / Pierce (9.0 points)
6) Hemphill / Waid (6.5 points)
4) Frankel / Carey (5.5 points)
3) Kearns / Russell (4.0 points)

. . . then Phil and Tiger each bogied 18 while I holed my approach shot from 172 yards. And that, Meyer, is how I won the British Open last year.

The recently "retired" Bill Oravec enjoys his golden elixir.

Week 3

Welcome back Gene Patrizzi!

What a beautiful night for golf and from the sounds of it, most of us forgot how to play last night!
Rob avenged his last year’s birthday loss (to me), with a smile.

Bill O. wanted ‘more’ strokes against Duncan.

Talking about Duncan, Duncan can make friends where-ever he goes. Just ask the Russian police.

SandBagger of the Week:

Steve "You want to play for a buck" Plant. Steve shot a fine 29 net. Great round Steve. If Steve wins this 3 more times, I’ll change this from SandBagger of the Week to the Steve Plant Award. Steve’s hcp is still adjusting, so in the next week or two it should be final.

Byrdie Club:

Only one new member: Duncan "From Russia with Love" Parsons. Duncan had his bird on the 5 th hole, because he missed his eagle chip. Great shot Duncan .

Don’t forget to check out Bill Gallagher’s Phoenix Golf Blog: http://pnxgolf.blogspot.com/, for added comments and golf league pictures. Pictures are generously provided by great photographer, Kevin Kearns .

The blogger is in search of his errant shot.

Like always, if you need a sub let me know.

Dave

Standings After Week 3:

7) Myers / Patrizzi (12.5 points)
10) Oravec / Plant (11.0 points)
2) Gallagher / Keilich (10.5 points)
5) Housman / Morano (10.0 points)
8) Dolan / Galiszuski (9.5 points)
1) Deyette / Stadnicki (8.5 points)
9) Mackin / Pierce (5.5 points)
6) Hemphill / Waid (4.5 points)
4) Frankel / Carey (3.0 points)
3) Kearns / Russell (0.0 freakin' points!)

John shows that he's already in mid-season form.

Week 2

Here are the golf stats for 5/12/2009:

We were lucky last night (the weather). Even the sun peeked out, every once in a while.

It’s way to earlier to tell, but have you ever seen the team of Kearns and Russell, not in first place over the last couple of years?

SandBagger of the Week:

Steve "I usually don’t play this well" Plant – Steve shot a fine net 24. Hey at least I didn’t play against him (Lenny). Great round, Steve!

Byrdie Club:

Well President Minardi has company. Kevin "I’ll buy the pitcher next week" Kearns birdie the 12 th hole. Good shot Kevin! (I wonder if he got a picture of it).

What's with Kevin's eye?

Eagle Club:

No members

Hole-in-one Club:

No members (yet). Gene hasn’t played yet.

We should almost have a full crew next week. I only have Hermann needing a sub (correct).

Quote of the Week: From Mark Stadnicki to me, about my drive on the 18th hole. "I can hit my 8 iron farther than that!"

Hey it was straight or should I say when it stopped it was in the middle of the fairway!

Dave

Standings After Week 2:

7) Myers / Patrizzi (9.5 points)
8) Dolan / Galiszuski (8.5 points)
2) Gallagher / Keilich (8.5 points)
10) Oravec / Plant (8.0 points)
1) Deyette / Stadnicki (7.0 points)
5) Housman / Morano (5.0 points)
9) Mackin / Pierce (2.0 points)
4) Frankel / Carey (1.0 points)
6) Hemphill / Waid (0.5 points)
3) Kearns / Russell (0.0 points)

A member of the last place, scoreless team prepares to shoot.

Hermann missed a birdie putt and blamed the league photographer.

What can Brown do for you?
