Well….Congratulations to the team of Tom (Confrey/Wieland), who has a 6 point lead over the 2^nd place team of Kearns / Russell and locked up 1^st place for the 2019 Phoenix Golf League.  

League points Leader: 

Tom Wieland cannot lose 1^st place with 20.50 points and a 2 point lead over 2^nd place, Kevin Kearns who has 18.50.  Kevin can tie Tom, if… Tom loses and Kevin wins.  Anything else, Tom will take home the top prize.   Since Tom and Kevin will be in the same 4 some next week, they will be aware of their situation.

Week 13

I want to thank Airways for the free carts!!! 

It was bad enough that I hit the barn(roof) on 18, but to get back out to the fairway, I had to bounce it back off the barn.

I almost lost my wife last night….she took a header walking to the women 13^th tee box from the 12^th green.  She was able to finish her round with no problems.  This morning might be a different story.

Also thanks Joe for lending Terri his sand wedge.  It made a difference.  Now I know what to get her for her birthday!

3 more weeks to go and it looks like a 3 horse race.  The team of Confrey / Wieland have a slim 2 point over both teams of Kearns / Russell and Gallagher / Keilich.

T.C. is out for the next 2 weeks so the pressure is on Tom Wieland.  Of course this would happen: Confrey / Wieland will play Kearns / Russell, next week. (T.C. would only have given Kevin 2 strokes!)

Gallagher / Keilich will play Alvarez / Cowles.

Terri and I will be on vacation, so Lenny will have the cards.

Thanks again to Airways for the carts!

With all that roll last night, water was in play on the 16^th hole.

Utility man Larry pinched hit for Bill Gallagher to help keep the team of Gallagher / Keilich in 1^st place.  I’m not saying that Larry and Hermann had a fast round (90 min), but I heard that Larry was already home by the time the last 4some came into the club house.

The CrossRoads band will be playing at the Rockledge Grille in W. Hartford on August 9^th.  Rumor is, Ted may have a solo! 

SandBagger of the Week: 

There was a tie between "Yukon" Williams and Manny Russell. Both ending up with a net low of 29.  Great round Ed and Manny!

Shane Lowry looking for John at the Open…..

John sent a few pictures from the Open, starting with Stewart Cink, Ryan Fox, Ernie, Bubba, someone to far away to tell, Sergio, DJ, McDowell, Westwood… and then his battery died after the Lowry picture.  I wanted him to get a picture of him and Shane drinking out of the Claret jug!

I was mildly surprised with the course last night.

We had a Larry Myers sighting last night.

I’m beginning to wonder if Tom Confrey and Tom Wieland are the same person?  We never see them golfing at the same time.

Week 3

Let talk about the elephant in the room!  Slow play.  You have to play ready golf.  Hit your shot and then help look for the lost ball.  You can hit a provisional ball and then look.

On a lighter note, while looking for Manny’s ball in the stream on the 11^th hole, the group in front of us pointed to a ball.  Manny didn’t think it was his but we pulled it out anyways.  The group in front of us,  that they didnt loose a ball.  We were a little surprise to see the iniatials JB on the ball.  Well JB was in the group in front of us but like I said before, noone indicated that they lost a ball in the stream.  Since this is the 1^st time we played the back, where did it come from?  We still have the ball.

Wow I don’t remember the last time the course was this unplayable.  This is why they sell beer at the course.  But it was good seeing everyone again.
