Week 4

Two things we could not complain about last night, being cold or raining!

It was Mat Carey’s birthday last night. I hope you had enough "birthday" beer! Mat did celebrate his birthday with winning 2 points. Happy birthday Mat!

SandBagger of the Week:

After watching him fly the green on the 10th hole, Mark Stadnicki turned it around with a net score of 30, just beating out the birthday boy and Johnny "new shoes" Hemphill.
I think Mark is getting used to his new irons! Great round Mark!

Mark, and the most popular person on the course.

Byrdie Club:

Wow we had an influx of birdies last night, 6 of them. We had one returnee, Ed Williams, who birdied the pesky 13th hole. Here are the newbies: Then we had 3 in one 4-some. Johnny "new shoes" Hemphill had his bird on the 11th hole and 2 birds by Frank "Hermann" Hanshaw on the 10th and the 11th hole. Next is Kevin "the Killer" Kearns with his bird on the 11th hole. Lastly, Dave "Barn Blaster" Deyette got his bird on the 12th hole.

Frank fulfilled both his birdie obligations last night. What dedication to the game!

Eagle Club:

I bet we had a few looks at it on the 11th hole, but no takers.

If you need a sub, let me know.

John tried to remember if he had a birdie tonight.

This is why you don't want to be long on your approach to the 11th green.

Week 3

One would think that Gene would have brought us a present back from Florida – like warm weather!

Welcome back Gene!

On a sad note: I would like to extend my condolences to Ed Williams, whose sister recently passed away.

If you didn’t know: Rob is getting married next week, down in Mexico. Congratulations Rob!!
Keeping with the golf theme, Rob said that once he gets married, he heard he’ll be getting more "strokes". All the married guys know for a fact, that Rob will not be getting "strokes", he’ll be the one giving "strokes"!! - YES DEAR!!!

Rob's last round (golf, and beer) as a free man.

SandBagger of the Week:

We had a tie for this week’s award; between Tom "I get a stroke on this hole?" Wieland and Mike "I like playing against John" Galiszuski. Both golfer shot a nice round of 30 net. Great shooting Gentlemen!

Byrdie Club:

We have one returnee (Rob) and one new member (Ed Williams). Ed got his bird on the 11th hole. His playing opponent (Kevin) said, they only reason he got the bird, because he missed his eagle! President Pierce got his bird on the 15th hole. He holed it with a putt from off the green. Good thing for flag sticks! Nice shots, golfers!

President Rob was heard making a proclamation on the course yesterday: Anyone getting a birdie and scoring 60 or above will have to buy 2 pitchers of beer. He quickly voted this bill when he found out that he might be the first one hit his criteria!

Things that make you go hmmmmm: is it a coincidence that once Rob became President of the Byrdie Club all of a sudden he’s getting married??

Eagle Club:

Still only President Kearns.

One last thing: has anyone hit the barn on the 10th hole yet???

Like always, if you need a sub let me know!

"Can I interest you in this fine piece of real estate?"

Why are Len, Tom and Rob shading their eyes? Because, as we all know, Dave's just not that bright!

Week 2

I was half expecting the Wicked Witch of the West to fly by last night. But in the end, it turned out to be a nice night.

Welcome Frank Hanshaw! Frank is subbing for Hermann.

Frank brought his rainbow with him.

I'm not saying anything, but look who’s team is on top of the leader board.

SandBagger of the Week:

After doing the stats, I was really surprised that it wasn’t Rob. This weeks award goes to: Ted “I kicked dummy’s butt” Cowles. Ted shot a fine net 30. Great shooting Ted. Oh by the way, your hcp dropped a couple of strokes!

Byrdie Club:

Rob Pierce threw his hat back into the political ring, once more. Rob was the first one to turn in a birdie and was elected President of the Byrdie Club with his fine bird on the 5th hole. You might remember Robs last position as the Czar of the Eagles Club, a few years back. Serving as his Vice President, is Ron Waid. Ron birdied the 9th hole. Nice shots, gentlemen.

Eagles Club:

No new members.

Like always, if you need a sub, let me know.

The calm before the storm.

The abandoned house near the second tee took a little more damage during the wind storm.

The sign near the third tee has been the recipient of a number of errant shots.

Ed chips onto the sixth green.

Kevin tees off under the rainbow.
