Week 7

I want to thank Airways for the free use of the carts.

The invention of the Flag Stick was a stroke of genius. It helped speed up the game of golf. No longer did golfers have to guess where the hole was, they had a flag stick to show them where to aim. So if you’re wondering where I going with this, ask John/Ron and Bill/Steve when they were trying to figure out where the hole was on 18. They asked me to remind everyone that the proper use of the flag stick is, standing and stuck in the hole not laying down on the side of the green.

I heard that they were a lot of great shots on 18, just short of the green except for Duncan "Fly Boy" Parsons who was just off the green (the back of the green). It was good to see Duncan back at Airways.

Welcome back, Duncan!

The match of Stadnicki vs Stadnicki was won by Stadnicki (Mark). Mark was a master of using his tree-wood and his tree-iron. Every time Mark hit a tree, it landed in the fariway. Except when he was aiming at Gene/Larry and Paul/Ted who were on the 13th tee box and Mark was on the 16th. I’m not saying that a tree was helping all Mark shots, especially when he chipped it in for a par on 13.

Adventures of team Sand / Bagger:

They asked me, since they didn’t use their strokes this week, can they save them for next week.
Next up, is the team of Carey / Frankel. Can Tom and Rob retain their status?
Meyer is only giving Tom 4 and Rob is giving Mat 4.

SandBagger of the Week:

Will the real Bill Oravec please stand up. I’m not saying that Bill didn’t need the 8 strokes that Johnny was giving him but I know John was saying that Bill didn’t need the 8 strokes. Bill set the ‘Net’ bar low and his net 26 will be almost impossible to beat. Man, this really put some separation from the log jam we previously had at 30 net. Great round Bill!

Bill shoots down this week's victim.

*note – We had 4 weeks of 3 golfers tied with a 30 net. In just one week, we had 3 golfers shoot below a 30 net: Bill O. (26), Ted (28), and Rob (29). I just want to say, good round gentlemen!

Rob shows off his net 29.

Byrdie Club:

1 returnee and 2 newbies – Meyer Frankel must like the 10th hole for this is the 2nd time this year that he birdied it. Bill Oravec joined the club when he also birdied the 10th hole. Then we have Duncan who birdied 11, 16, and the 18th holes. Duncan was last seen at the bank trying to get a loan for all the pitchers of ‘birdie’ beers. Nice shots, gentlemen!

Duncan "The Birdman of Airways" Parson's card.

Eagle Club:

Only Kevin

*note – If you yell FORE and nobody hears it, did you actually yell FORE?

Golf can be a dangerous game.
